Emi's Nine

Richard Sherman is 26.

Green Bean Redemption

Guest documentarian: Dad

Emi usually handles the corner kicks, but this time our coach decides to put him in the box.

Good move, coach.

This Emi-authored "weird one" leads to an amazing upset victory for the Adans in the season finale against a McAlester team that dominated our first encounter. Because of Dad's willingness the frustration that is video documentation, Mari and I are able to see the magic.

Playing up

Today's opponent: Ada's older boys. That's a tough draw.

Emilio is clearly up for the challenge.

After getting fouled, Emilio hits the post on an almost spectacular free kick over the wall from distance.

Sam, #5 on the defense, is Ada's best, which makes this score all the more impressive.

Ada U9 v. Ada U10: Hard-won Shots

Shot on goal!

Emi beats three to get off this shot on goal . . . and nails it! That's the only one Ada's U-9 team will score today against the U-10 team.

Grand Finale: Winthrop Gets a Cornet

Green Beans vs. Blue Bellies: Winthrop Scores Two

Almost coast to coast . . .

Penalty kick gold!

Breakaway payoff!

Winthrop: Take Two

Emi's First Cougar Chase

That's a fifth grader (Rahim), a fourth grader (Carter), and a third grader (Emi). Emilio reported that he and Carter encouraged Rahim to keep up with them during much of the race--and then, with some finish-line encouragement, Rahim brought it home. This was Emilio's first 5K, and he finished in just under 45 minutes.  He was soaked!

Emilio finished third in his age group and 52nd overall.
