Grand Tour, Day 32: Barcelona

When we woke up, we took a taxi to the Picasso Museum. We waited in a half-hour line. Then we got audio guides.

The most memorable painting was a painting by Picasso with a whole bunch of pigeons in it. There are two pigeons on a window sill. There are two pigeons on the ground and one in the air. We were not allowed to take pictures at the Museum, but the picture above is the closest we could find to it. It was memorable because I thought that it was weird how a famous artist painted pigeons. He painted at least ten paintings of pigeons. I mean, who cares about pigeons? All pigeons do is poop, eat, and take up space. I guess Picasso thought pigeons were very important, which I think is cool.

After we were finished, we went to a park to wait for my mom’s cousin Mario Ernesto. While we were waiting, my dad gave us missions. He told my brother to go to one of the fountains. Then he told me to follow my brother without being seen. Pablo saw me at the very end, though.

Then we went to a park inside the park, and he told my sister to go back to my mom. Then he told my brother to go to my mom without my sister seeing him. Once Pablo was gone, he told me to go find my mom without Nina or Pablo seeing me. Then while I was going, I saw my mom and Mario Ernesto. My sister was there, so I waited. She left, and I was going to go until my brother went, and I had to wait until he was done talking.

I finally went and got to see my mom and Mario Ernesto. I said hello and then went back to my dad. We all completed our mission. Then we went back to see Mario Ernesto. He took us to see an old Barcelona market. While they were digging around it, they found the ruins of a medieval village. The market itself dated back to the 1800s!

After he showed us the market and the ruins, we went on a long walk. While we were walking, we met his girlfriend, Emmanuelle. Our walk led us to the bus that would take us to the Sagrada Familia. La Sagrada Familia was humongous.


There were pinnacles on the church that looked like they had fruit on them. The photo above shows these "fruits." This photo came from the internet.

Once we left the Sagrada Familia, we got ice cream. I got watermelon flavored. It was amazing!

Then we took a taxi back to the hotel. Our taxi driver bumped into the car in behind us! Everyone was fine, and we walked the rest of the way. When we got to the hotel, we ate dinner. I had pita bread and hummus.
