Emilio Hits Restaurant Circuit with the J's

According to Jack, Bill Maher says John Roberts is the first gay Supreme Court Justice. Maher's evidence? A photo of Chief Justice Roberts posing with food. According to Maher (according to Jack), only gay men pose with food.

I confess to coercing Jack to pose with an Ann Sather's cinammon roll, but he went for the fruit bowl on his own--not that there's anything wrong with that. (Jack's addendum to the Stewart Postulate: Only gay men force other men to pose with food--not that there's anything wrong with that).

Emilio and the girls handled this and like banter with aplomb. It was the first time Julie had eaten at the Andersonville landmark (though she'd had take-out cinammon rolls) and it was Emilio's first visit to a restaurant of any kind.

The wait staff thought Emilio was beautiful. One of the waitresses told us that babies get their exercise by crying. Her mother once forced her to sit in a chair for ten minutes with her crying baby. It was hard for her to do, but after nine minutes and fifty seconds of wailing, the babe calmed down and slept better than ever that night, she says.

Sometimes when Emilio cries, he looks like Saturday Night Live's Will Forte imitating former Georgia Senator Zell Miller. Zell--the Democrat turned Republican who spoke at George Bush's last Republican National Convention--is a fascist nutbag.

Jack and Julie share our affection for Saturday Night Live and I think we all enjoyed Alec Baldwin's hosting effort this past weekend. Mari particularly enjoyed the Santa's Workshop sketch in which Alec, playing a tough elf from the home office, spoofs his performace in Glengarry Glen Ross. After Dane Cook's surprising performance last week (never heard of him? me either), that's two weeks in a row of good SNL hostage (Julie thought Dane got off to a slow start last week and Jack thought the FCC was going to pull the plug on his opening monologue). I am looking forward to watching Jack Black go for the trifecta this week.
