Macarena Lessons

This week Emilio has enjoyed making friends with Kathy, Tao and Maya who took the train from Denver to Chicago and were sleeping in our guest room when we got home from the Indigo Girls concert at Ravinia on Monday. Kathy, Tao and Maya have the distinction of being the first overnight visitors at our new Carmen home and Tao and Maya are also the first to initiate Emilio into the secret world of the Macarena.

Takin' It to the Streets

Friday night, after Mari's last day of school, the three of us took the train to Ravinia Park where we enjoyed a picnic and a sold-out Doobie Brothers concert.

Emilio enjoyed the concert, but the best part of the outing for him was probably the train ride.

The Partyers

Emilio rolled in late to Nathaniel Lewis's one-year birthday celebration on Sunday at Sweet Occasions, did some dancing, offered some hugs, popped some bubbles, collected party favors--sand pail and shovel , raced up and down the hallway, lit up a musical turtle, and, as you see in the video below, played with some balloons under the watchful eyes of his entourage. In short, had a blast. One-year-old Nathaniel was the cool host, welcomed the revelers, showed off his legs, and, as you will see in the video below, humored his dad.
