Margate Park
It takes Emilio and I about 10 minutes to drive from our house to Margate Park and we go every time we get a chance. In the early days, Emi was hooked on the swings and loved to watch the variety of buses driving by on Lake Shore Drive. Next came the slides phase (the park has six). Now he's all about the climbing.
The following slice-of-life videos are not thrillers, but they document what going to the park with Emilio is like these days. This is the kind of thing I see. This first one (1:32) features a slide ride, an obstacle course, a bell rung and a bridge crossed.
This second video (1:36) features a careful, distracted climb down (a newly learned skill), a periscope and some desultory exploration.

The Shedd
Stop number two on Emi's Farewell Chicago Tour was the Shedd Aquarium. In the video below (:44), the Man observes and is observed by a hermit crab and an iguana.
As was the case at the zoo, the climbing opportunities were sometimes as appealing to Emilio as the watching ones (:40).
This last one (:24) features a kind of family portrait with Chicago skyline, taken in the Shedd's dining room. The tall white building is the Aon Center (formerly Standard Oil), the third tallest building in the city and the fourth or fifth tallest in the country. The Sears Tower is hiding behind that big crane.

It's All Happening at the Zoo
We have 40 days left in Chicago and we're going to try to take Emilio to a few of the city's child-friendly attractions before we go. We started with the Brookfield Zoo (which I had never visited). Emily stayed with the kids. Folks, that's a life-size tiger we're facing in the photo below.
In addition to visting the animal inmates, we spent some time on the zoo playground.
In the video below, Emi checks out the shed fur of a Bactrian Camel. I expect Emilio will be shedding some of his own fur later this summer. I am not looking forward to it.
