After spending our afternoon in our hotel room, we headed back to the soccer pitch for an 8 pm game under the lights against Elk City, which had lost to McAlester 2-1 earlier in the day.
They took a 2-0 lead over us, but again, we managed to tie the game in the 2nd half.

Game 13: The Turkey Shootout Night Game
One of my favorite plays of the game (and the season?) was this throw-in from Taylor to Emilio. Coach Vaughn told Emilio to "run!." He did, without looking back, in full confidence that the ball would appear before him. And it did. Emilio centered the ball, but it was intercepted before Phillip could get to it. Phillip claimed that the defender batted the ball with his hand, but the refs did not see it.
Later, Emilio made the nifty run above.
One minute later, Minh launches a through-ball that Emilio chases down and crosses. The defender hits it with his hand, but the call is not made.
The final score: Ada 2, Elk City 2.
After the night game, we just made it to a Mediterranean restaurant in time to buy hummus, falafel, and lentil soup before their 10 pm closing time. We ate at the hotel and went to bed. Pablo slept in a sleeping bag.
